|Featured Speaker:||David Herndon, Solution Architect, Redis Labs|
Tammy Butow, Principal SRE, Gremlin
|Audience:||VP Engineering, Architect, DevOps, Developers|
David is a seasoned professional in the area of databases, middleware and application development. After launching his career in the mainframe IDMS world, he survived the move to Open Systems and the client/server revolution.
As an early adopter of the cloud he’s now focused on helping customers make their way through Cloud Native computing decisions, solving the same problems we solved years ago, with new technologies and platforms. Application reliability, performance tuning and scale are topics that have always been top of mind.
These days he’s a Solution Architect for the world’s fastest database platform, Redis Enterprise. In his spare time, he’s an amateur astronomer, a budding electronic music producer, and likes to think he can catch fish.
Tammy Butow is a principal SRE at Gremlin, where she works on chaos engineering—the facilitation of controlled experiments to identify systemic weaknesses. Previously, Tammy led SRE teams at Dropbox responsible for the databases and storage systems used by over 500 million customers and was an IMOC (incident manager on call), where she was responsible for managing and resolving high-severity incidents across the company. She has also worked in infrastructure engineering, security engineering, and product engineering. Tammy is the cofounder of Girl Geek Academy, a global movement to teach one million women technical skills by 2025. Tammy is an Australian and enjoys riding bikes, skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing. She also loves mosh pits, crowd surfing, metal, and hardcore punk.
