Redis Labs Launches Redis Cloud GA on Cloud Foundry
Developers can now build blazing fast apps on Cloud Foundry’s Public Platform-as-a-Service
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 7, 2014
Redis Labs (www.redislabs.com), the leading commercial Redis provider, today announced the General Availability (GA) of its fully-managed Redis Cloud service on Cloud Foundry’s public platform-as-a-service (PaaS). Starting today, developers using Cloud Foundry can take advantage of Redis Cloud to enhance their applications with fully managed, infinitely scalable, and highly available Redis.
Redis is an in-memory open source NoSQL database that took the developer community by storm. The fastest data store available today, Redis is used wherever high performance is required, such as in social, gaming, advertising and real-time analytics applications. Redis Cloud by Redis Labs enhances these use cases with:
- Infinite scalability. Datasets can grow to any size in a fully automated manner.
- High availability. Datasets can be replicated within a data center or across datacenters, with an auto failover mechanism that guarantees the database is always up and running.
- Stable top performance. Each dataset is processed by multiple cores and on the strongest cloud machines to guarantee the best performance.
- Zero management. Datasets are fully managed with 24/7 support by a team of Redis experts.
Cloud Foundry / Pivotal Webs Services is a leading open platform-as-a-service, providing an open ecosystem of developer frameworks and application services. Cloud Foundry makes it faster and easier to build, test, deploy and scale applications.
"Redis Cloud is a great Redis choice for developers on Cloud Foundry," said Ofer Bengal, CEO and co-founder of Redis Labs. "Developers can immediately benefit from the high performance use cases that only Redis can provide, without having to manage scalability, availability, or performance issues. This allows them to stay focused on building great apps on the Cloud Foundry platform while we do the Redis heavy lifting."
"The Redis Cloud add-on is a great addition to our plugin portfolio and fits our vision in evolving the developer mindset away from legacy IT," said Nima Badiey Business Development at Cloud Foundry.
