Redis Labs Achieves Rapid Q1 Growth and Hits 2,000 Paying Customers
Redis database deployments increased by more than 320 percent over same quarter last year
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 28, 2014
Redis Labs (www.redislabs.com), the leading commercial Redis provider, today announced that it has beat customer growth targets for Redis Cloud, its fully managed Redis service. The company has realized tremendous growth with a total of 45,000 Redis instances created over public clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure and IBM SoftLayer by the end of Q1 2014. New Redis database creation grew by more than 57 percent quarter-over-quarter and 320 percent compared to Q1 2013.
The company also announced that it has signed over 2,000 paying customers to date, achieving more than 33 percent customer acquisition growth in just the first quarter of this year.
Redis is an in-memory open source NoSQL database that has taken the developer community by storm. As the fastest data store available today, Redis is used wherever high performance is required, such as in social, gaming, advertising and real-time analytics applications. Redis Cloud by Redis Labs powers these use cases with:
- Infinite scalability. Datasets can seamlessly grow to any size in a fully automated manner, with zero downtime.
- True high availability. Datasets can be replicated within a data center or across datacenters, with an auto failover mechanism that guarantees the database is always up and running. Data persistence is achieved without performance tradeoffs.
- Stable top performance. Each dataset is processed by multiple cores and on the strongest cloud machines to guarantee the best performance.
- Zero management. Fully automated operations, no need to deal with nodes, clustering, scaling, or failure recovery. 24/7 support provided by a team of Redis experts.
- Unmatched expertise. Over 15 top Redis developers build and constantly upgrade Redis Cloud, and have also become the second largest contributor to open source Redis.
"The real success of Redis Labs’ growth in the NoSQL database domain is due to the ultrafast read write capabilities of Redis," said Ofer Bengal, CEO and co-founder of Redis Labs. "Developers simply love using Redis to quickly build high performance enterprise and new era applications. Once they begin to scale, Redis Cloud’s dynamic clustering technology is a logical choice for developers to continue capturing all of the great use cases of Redis while leaving the heavy lifting to us."
In addition to the public Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms indicated above, Redis Cloud by Redis Labs is also available through public Platform as a Service (PaaS) channels such as Heroku, CloudFoundry, Azure Store, RedHat’s OpenShift, Appfog, AppHarbor, and IBM Cloud Marketplace.
