Office and Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Office Assistant to help keep our growing startup organized and running smoothly.  As the Redis Labs Office and Accounting Assistant, you’ll be in charge of the daily administrative operations of the company.  The ideal candidate for this role is a hard-working professional able to comfortably balance and execute on a variety of office support tasks and light accounting tasks, and will be familiar with or comfortable in a dynamic start-up environment.  


  • Be the face of Redis Labs – Answer phones, redirect calls, and greet guests upon arrival, directing them to the appropriate offices
  • Help our team go places and get back – Assist with preparing travel plans and organize travel arrangements
  • Make memorable events – Assist with planning and implementing company events, both large and small
  • Ensure that our team is happy and well fed – Maintain office and kitchen supplies and coordinate refreshments for the office and meetings
  • Create a great first impression – Set up new-hire workstations and keep office areas clean and tidy
  • Be a problem solver – Resolve office-related issues and malfunctions, and respond to requests for assistance
  • Get things out the door – Coordinate messenger and courier services
  • Take care of business – Assist our Operations Manager with daily operation and perform work-related errands as requested, such as post office or grocery store trips
  • Crunch some numbers (or get them ready for crunching) – Perform light accounting duties, such as setting up new vendors, preparing purchase orders and pulling receipts for corporate credit card expenses


  • Two or more years of experience in an administrative capacity
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment (start-up experience preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Pleasant and friendly disposition; a team player
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience troubleshooting and managing office equipment
  • Comfortable with numbers and basic accounting procedures
