Re:Invent is just around the corner.
One of the major advantages of attending the show (and ultimately a return on your investment) is leveraging expert knowledge at one of the 202 sessions taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.
These sessions generally include expert AWS users, panels, and AWS staff members who elaborate on complex technical applications of AWS expanded services. In many cases they also include commercial members from the AWS ecosystem who share their knowledge from their customer base and partnerships.
The challenge is finding the right one.
Making the right decision can be complex considering the many experts and wide spectrum of interest. To navigate the sessions, Amazon has provided conference attendees with a great tool that helps them navigates through more than 200 sessions – the Session Catalog.
What about application high availably and scalability?
I sat down with Yiftach Shoolman, CTO & Co-Founder of Redis Cloud (GarantiaData), a commercial provider of Redis for developers. For those attending re:Invent and want to enhance their knowledge of building and scaling highly available apps, Yiftach suggested these must attend sessions: ARC202 – High Availability Application Architectures in Amazon VPC ARC305 – How Netflix Leverages Multiple Regions to Increase Availability: An Isthmus and Active-Active Case Study CPN201 – More Nines for Your Dimes: Improving Availability and Lowering Costs using Auto Scaling and Amazon EC2 CPN204 – Architecting for Availability & Scalability with Elastic Load Balancing and Route 53 ENT203 – What an Enterprise Can Learn from Netflix, a Cloud-native Company With re:Invent just a few days away, the most important thing is to book your sessions fast. Half of the session seats have been reserved for advanced and expert users.
